Our mission: "To impact and improve the lives of others." Our goal: Significance.
Because we strive to live out our values and what we teach, Buffini & Company is excited to announce our expanded partnership with Habitat for Humanity International. In 2006 we built four homes in storm-ravaged Louisiana;
in 2007 we’ll build 12 more in our major market areas throughout the country.
Our first Hands of Hope project in Baton Rouge 2006 saw such incredible
success we knew we had to forge ahead, no holds barred. So, Hands of Hope will
continue, bringing hope and homes to families in need throughout the coming
year. And because you’re an integral part of the Buffini & Company
Community, there are great opportunities for you to help.
If you’re well along the road to significance and would like to volunteer, we’d
love for you to fill one of the 240 openings available for each project. And if
you’re not at the point where you’re able to attend, not to worry, you can
still be part of the solution. Buffini & Company’s foundation, The
Providence Systems Foundation will be actively fundraising for these 12 homes.
Donations, in any amount, will play a pivotal role in the success of our
efforts. Building 12 homes is a costly task, but one that’s well worth it given
the returns…
Remembering the Baton
Rouge event, Dan Bogojevich, one of the catalysts behind it all, reflects,
"It’s a beautiful thing to watch the people you help; to see their faces as a
new hope is born. Individuals who have built homes and lives, only to lose it
all—so that their few remaining possessions fit in a small car’s trunk—are
given an opportunity to begin again. There’s a light at the end of the tunnel,
and it reflects in their eyes. They have a renewed strength, resolve and
confidence for the future."
And in the end, it all comes down to this: People reaching out in a singleness
of purpose to help other people in need. It’s not about you, but
rather your neighbor. To volunteer or donate is a chance to give back, because
you realize you’ve been given so much.
If you’re excited about the possibilities and would like to help out, there are
a few things to know that’ll help you prepare…
These projects will be eight-day, “Blitz Build,” “hands-on” efforts with
volunteers from the Buffini & Company Community as well as Servant Leaders
from its staff. Keep in mind that those who participate don’t need to be
construction “experts” and will be working on framing, roofing, siding,
painting, and landscaping. Onsite volunteers are also needed as medical first
responders and to help with registration, clean up, and food service.
Volunteers are responsible for their travel and lodging expenses for this
project, while Buffini & Company will cover lunches, onsite supplies, and
T-shirts. Our tentative locations and dates for 2007 are:
- Apopka, Florida (Jan. 6-13)
