While I might not be the biggest technology guy on the block, I do appreciate how it can help us in both our business and our life. Thing is, many people spend their time on social networking sites while their business is crying out for help. They think that the principles of business have changed in this technological era. Well I believe that the principles don’t change; only the tactics do. Voice-to-voice and face-to-face is still the way to build a relationship with a client. Social media simply magnifies the fundamentals of your business; it is not actually one of the fundamentals by itself.
I interact with our Members on Facebook all the time but our initial connection is not formed online. I’ll still get on a plane to visit people, do a presentation, and then hear their stories first-hand. That’s how I connect.
Are you using social media as a magnifier for the fundamentals you're already engaged in, or as an excuse to not go do them?
Build the relationship and remember - nobody clicks 'Add to Cart' when they're buying or selling a home! Go see your people.
It’s a good life!
