Need I say more?

Last week I met many of our Members in Texas and Chicago, and something I heard over and over about the Blitz program was how much you love having the activities laid out – having a simple plan to follow. And who doesn’t want to follow a simple plan? The results say it all because thousands of agents across North America enrolled in the Blitz are having a productive quarter:

  • “We have 5 under contract with 1 closed this week. I am already up 8 transactions from this time last year. I know it is because of all the preparation, pipeline additions and client care we have been doing for the Blitz. Thanks for your help and encouragement!” - Debbie C.
  • “I have 6 properties under contract. I've closed 3 this year…I am Blitzing like a maniac! I've received numerous referrals since the beginning of the Blitz and I've been listing more property then ever before, so I know more sales are coming. Thanks!” - Thomas N.

What are we waiting for?

Isn’t there a certain type of client you enjoy working with? The kind of client who inspires you to give your best and is a complete joy to serve? 

Working by referral doesn’t just provide a structured system to generate leads; it provides the framework to deliver the best quality leads. The great news is that it takes no more time, energy or resources to find this type of “A” client you love than it does to find the very opposite! The even better news is that it is less time consuming and far more enjoyable to serve an "A" than it is to serve a “D.” 

The characteristics of an "A" client are pretty typical: they’re usually someone who trusts you or there is some level of established trust there already. The reason being - someone they trust has referred them to you.

So if we all agree that there’s a certain type of client we want and a certain type we don’t want, the question is what are we waiting for? Our Members enrolled in the Blitz program are outperforming the recovery by getting out there and generating referred leads. So if you know of someone who needs a helping hand in his or her business, we’ll be happy to lend one!

In other words…a winning attitude!

Last week I did a conference call webinar titled How to Be a Winner. This is a topic I cover at the Turning Point and can be the difference between making it or breaking it in this business. Because of that very belief, I went into hibernation during the last quarter of 2009 and immersed myself in the good stuff: watching inspirational videos, reading motivational books and re-engaging with my mentors. My car was a 24/7 mobile university again.

So, what was the result? A noticeable shift in energy, an improved ability to handle the challenges life throws at me and a more positive outlook. In other words, the result was a winning attitude!

These are different times and they call for different actions. I consider myself upbeat and I work hard at pouring the positive stuff in, but let me tell you, 2009 doled out quite a beating. Like you, I faced some challenges and was worn down by the battle against negativity and the lack of momentum. But today is a new day. I’m firing on all cylinders and my attitude is charged and ready to go. I attack the day with a winning outlook and it makes all the difference. 

I don’t tell you all this to toot my own horn…I say it to encourage you. Perhaps you’ll take a few minutes from your day to listen to the call How to be a Winner. We all need a little help from our friends and that’s more true today than ever before, so turn off the talk radio, turn on the CD player and let’s get busy living.

Who else wants a referral each week?

I’ve been enjoying updating FACEBOOK and TWITTER from the road recently, and it's been fun hearing back from you. Last week I spent time on the East Coast and got to visit with many of you. In doing so, I was reminded of the importance of the work we are all doing. You’re helping people with one of the most important decisions in their lives - guiding them through the process of buying, selling or financing a home. Along the way, you're doing such a great job that they refer you to their friends without hesitation. One transaction at a time we’re re-building the economy!

Buffini & Company’s job is to provide you with programs and services that keep you on point, on fire and on track to win this year. Once again, you Blitzers are powering ahead. Our Realtor Members have generated an average of one referral every week since the start of the program, and lenders are doing even better than that! Keep it up – you’re outpacing the recovery and racing toward a great year in your business.

A groundswell is forming…

Let me ask you a question: Who’s reaping the benefits of your time, energy and resources? Did you share your expertise and knowledge with a consumer in need or did time get swallowed up in another direction today? With home sales increasing, interest rates still dropping and people seeing the benefit of having an agent like never before, are you making sure you are at the forefront of their mind if they’re thinking about buying or selling a home?

Over the past couple of weeks I’ve spoken with thousands of agents and lenders across North America and let me tell you, our Members are motivated, on fire and ready to outperform this recovery. A groundswell is forming...make sure you don’t get left behind.

This early and just look at the numbers...

Today I want to send those of you who enrolled in the Blitz a word of congratulations and encouragement. We’re very proud of your results! In the first three weeks of the Blitz, our Realtor participants have generated three referrals each. In addition to that, our lender participants have averaged almost eight referrals each! At a time when you don’t hear much in the way of good news in the media, these are incredible results and something you should be proud of. 

You know what you’re capable of and you have the tools, encouragement and expertise to achieve it, so keep your head down, keep up the good work and keep on Blitzing!

Run hard, rest and recover, run hard again!

Many of you across North America are now well on your way with the Blitz - our lead-generation program that's free for Members – and I’m already hearing great reports back about the success you are seeing. If we’re going to win this year and get ahead, we must outperform the recovery and out work our peers.

As my friend Tony Schwartz teaches, we are naturally built to operate in sprint conditions – to go hard, take time out to rest and recover, and then go hard again.

Wow…I really missed you!

It was late last year when I decided that after a six-year hiatus, I would go back into the local markets with complimentary presentations. My goal was to fire up our Members after a brutal 2009, reconnect with some of our former Members and introduce some new folks to the Working by Referral methodologies.

Last week in Seattle, Tacoma and Portland, people turned out in droves and much of the experience was exactly what I had been expecting. The one thing I had forgotten was how much I enjoyed hanging out with folks at the front of the stage - hearing your stories, lending an ear to your challenges and giving a hug or a handshake. This is what I’ve enjoyed most about this business since 1996, and last week was the best week I’ve had in a long time.

So check out the website and see when our Success Seminars are coming to town. I’ve got some new techniques and some old stories I want to share with you. I want to make you laugh, make you think and have you come away reenergized with a few good ideas. Oh, by the way…when you come, drive in the car pool lane and bring a friend. I guess it’s back to the fundamentals for all of us and I’ve forgotten how fun those damentals can be!

Launch your year right

The New Year is a time for activity and refocusing our efforts. Typically, 40% of all transactions occur in the first quarter and this period really does set up the rest of your year.

This year I believe that number will climb to 50% prior to the end of April. There are a number of factors for this – tax credits, interest rates, inventory, etc. but consider this: one out of every two homes bought or sold this year are going to change hands in this first quarter.

So…I have one question for you: are you registered for the Blitz to make sure you are getting your fair share?
